The Grande Reserve

Live on stage!
10 years in the Spotlight

I like to think of the Grande Reserve like a vintage collection of “Greatest Hits”

Imagine being transported by the effervescence of Champagne, letting yourself feel the magic of musical masterpieces as they explode on your palate:

“Straight No Chaser” from Miles Davis, hits your mouth, starting you off with a powerful groove, then, extending into the melodious swing of Come Fly With” Me by Frank Sinatra.

A bouquet of aromas and flavors come at you like a mash up of Brown Sugar” by the Rolling Stones and Desire” from U2, melting into the soulful depth of song with Diana Krall and her Cry Me A River”

The freshness and tension bounce on your tastebuds with Elvis in Jailhouse Rock”, finishing, in the end, with a bittersweet instrumental finale entitled True Sorry” by Ibrahim Maalouf.

Don’t forget that Pinot Noir likes to chill in its own special way. It will warm up to play, naturally, as you decant it into your glass.

Get ready to jam, jukebox heros!

Rosé

A Romantic fiction,
based on a true story.

Opening scene: We find Marie Antoinette, the future Queen of France walking in vineyards in Bouzy. The year is 1770.

A dinner in honor of the future Queen is to be held in a castle not far from the village.

Enter: Andre Clouet, who started to entertain the guests at the Queen’s table by adding a few drops of red wine from Champagne to white wine. Known as “Bouzy Rouge,” this Vin des Sacres, was the red wine served to celebrate the crowning of the French Kings.

On that night, the ladies at the table eyes began to sparkle with amazement as the white wine became pink.

Standing, the men raised a toast to the Queen and Andre Clouet proclaimed: “This is how we perfect Pinot Noir in Champagne! Now the Burgundians will just have to deal with it!”

A few years later, a cousin placed an order for some of this pink wine, but sparkling this time, for her crazy English friends!

300 years later, everyone is still crazy for this champagne, that with a few teardrops of pinot noir, creates a world seen through rose colored glasses.

For centuries, Champagne and Burgundy have quarrelled over their Pinot Noir authority. All Champagne producers at one time or another, have dreamed of working in Burgundy. All Burgundy wine growers have dreamed of working in Champagne, just for a little while!

I believe that the Spirit of Pinot Noir comes alive in the sparkle of Rosé Champagne, but its earthly vessel lies in Burgundy.

Silver Brut Nature

Champagne Pow Pow!

Ahh, fresh powder! It’s the best snow to glide on – Dry, pure and light.

My Free Rider friends call the Brut Silver Nature “Champagne Pow Pow!”

Dipping their lips, the downy delicate foam starts to blanket their mouths, tongues surfing on powdery-fine effervescence.

What a breathtaking view! An avalanche of flavor hits their tastebuds, falling around the slopes of their palates like a beautiful landscape.

Up for another run…

It glows… and becomes transcendent!

Deep, bright, effervescent… Taking off and on approach to Celestial Harmony.

Le Clos

The Enchanted Fortress

The Clos contains the Clouet family’s most beautiful genetic combinations of Pinot Noir, encasing each precious vine in a bank vault that’s open to the sky.

This ancestral vineyard, protected by thick walls, is an extension of our elegant family domaine in the heart of Bouzy.

Here Pinot Noir babies are safeguarded from any new strains of phylloxera or contamination.

For centuries, they have been serving the Clouet family, a living experiment for understanding the secret power of Bouzy Black Powder in the Montagne de Reims.

Only the druids knew how to master this seemingly magical powder with it’s physical, chemical and supernatural biological qualities. When they disappeared, their ancient wisdom unfortunately went with them…

It took audacity, luck, experimentation, historical research and some generations of the Clouet family, for the core of that first glorious era of Pinot Noir in Champagne to be recovered.

Now the magic of The ancient Druids is back to enchant our tastebuds!

The Black powder and it’s powers are the groundwork for our universal mission

It just goes to prove that 10 centuries of forced fertilization doesn’t hold a candle to the what properties was already present supernatural power of our Bouzy Terroir that the ancients knew.

The Clos is a reflection of our ancestral values and the foundation that our House has been built upon.

One day in 1911…

A Champagne Fairytale

Once upon a time, a few precious bottles were hidden away in a small cellar for more than 80 years. By a stroke of luck they were found and became the inspiration for a champagne tribute to the Golden Age we like to call “One day in 1911”.

We were overcome with sentimental nostalgia when we recovered those bottles, saving them from oblivion. Memories of old Aunt Jenny came flooding back. She had always spoken about them with a sparkle in her eye, remembering their presence at every resplendent celebration and happy occasion during those dazzling early years of the 1900s

Carefully packed with straw, protected in their wooden cases, each bottle was beautifully dressed with a gold foil collar, painstakingly applied by hand and shapely suggestive of a woman’s plunging neckline. Belle Époque graphic design on the labels transported us back to the Golden Age of France, a time of prosperity, optimism and creative freedom when the arts began to flourish.

The House of André Clouet invites you to enjoy « One day in 1911 » the revival of a rediscovered gem from one of the best vineyards in the world. Working with the finest craftsmen, we bring you the magical renaissance of champagne production from the 1900s.

Vintage Leopard

Heavy Petting

I started my conquest of the Great North very young.

The blue-eyed Swedish beauties were used to something very different from my physical characteristics. I needed to find a way to seduce them! “Necessity is the Mother of invention” – The Leopard Vintages were born!

My goal was to seduce the beautiful Barbies of the North with bubbly, sensual caresses on their palates.

The small red cabins of Darlana in Sweden, provided my favorite seduction scenes, preferably in the winter when it was dark and cold. I used to light a roaring fire in the fireplace and lay a leopard skin rug on the hearth, to get the magic going.

Then I would go get the sparkling love potion that had been kept at the perfect temperature outside in the fresh snow. Returning to the scene, as cool as a Nordic god with my back to the blizzard, I would ask “Some Vintage Leopard Mademoiselle?” and pop the cork!

It only took a few minutes, for the magic to take effect.

As soon as the musky blast of Bouzy Pinot Noir with a hint of Chardonnay invaded the room, Vintage Leopard made those Swedish beauties purr like a kitten…
